Who We Are Looking For

A Technical Sales Engineer with an entrepreneurial mindset and insatiable drive to develop new business opportunities within the areas of Data Protection, Observability / AI Ops, and Cyber Security.  You will be instrumental in driving US sales of project-based software development services for both Enterprise level and newer VC backed companies.  You will drive the conversion of leads to opportunities through discussion with the prospective client of their ecosystem, technical environment and technical challenges.  With an outside-in mentality you can proactively build and present our solution offerings and communicate our service capabilities via our use cases and prior projects.  Finally you should have the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment across time zones and cultures.

Work Location:  Headquarters in Boston, MA.  Hybrid or remote work within US Eastern Time Zone to best communicate with our team in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate and represent the value of the Comtrade 360 solutions and services to a broad and diverse range of prospective customers. Present Comtrade 360 technology landscape within Data Protection, Observability / AI Ops, and Cyber Security Solutions.
  • Identify all key stakeholders and decision makers critical to successfully converting opportunities into orders
  • Act as the first line of communication to generate enough information of the need and challenge to convert into an opportunity
  • Quickly respond on customer requirements with solution/use case offerings
  • Debrief to Lead Architect for next level development of a SOW
  • Participate in trade show events, workshops and seminars, and be a true ambassador of Comtrade 360 brand
  • Travel required – 25-30% of time, focused within USA East and Mid-West as well as periodic travel to our European offices.


For This Role We Value Candidates Who Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical engineering
  • 3-5 + Years of Experience in Sales Engineering with demonstrated sales growth success in a customer facing role
  • 2+ years of experience in Engineering/Software Dev
  • Experience with Datacenter technologies, hands-on experience with public clouds, familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure
  • Experience with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Terraform and Ansible is a bonus
  • Demonstrated technical experience in the area of data management and infrastructure management including but not limited to Observability, AI/Ops, Cyber Security, and Data Protection and Management in multiple environments (on prem, hybrid, and cloud.)
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present, write and converse effectively with multiple audiences of varying levels of sophistication
